Season 51 Auditions
 

Professional Auditions  - Jan 25-26, 2025

(Open to those seeking compensation who have substantial training and/or experience)

 

Please come prepared with a headshot, resume, monologue, and 16-32 bars of a song with printed and notated sheet music. Be ready to dance if asked.

 

SART is actively seeking actors who play an instrument for multiple productions this season. For those who play an instrument - please be prepared to play it. A piano will be provided.

Volunteer Auditions - Feb 1-2, 2025

(Open call - no experience, training, or professional materials required. Be prepared to sing and dance if you wish to be considered for Oklahoma! or Smoke on the Mountain.)

SART's casting policy is centered on choosing the very best actors for each role. Our team of directors are committed to racial, cultural and artistic diversity. Everyone is welcome and warmly encouraged to attend auditions.

  • The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales (Theater for Young Audiences) - Rehearsals June 3 - June 21, Performances June 23 - June 29

  • Noises Off - Rehearsals June 17 - July 10, Performances July 11 - July 20 

    • Directed By Jeff Catanese

 

  • Smoke on the Mountain - Rehearsals July 1 - July 24, Performances July 25 - Aug. 3

Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre (SART) is a professional theatre company in residence at the historic Owen Theatre in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Conceived in 1974 by director and theatre educator Jim Thomas, SART has produced scores of original works, plays & musicals over the years many portraying the rich culture and heritage of Southern Appalachia.
