The Wedding Singer is showing July 27-31! We reached out to Jo Collinson, to find out more about her and what working on this fun production has been like!
What is your favorite song in this show and why?
All About the Green! The energy is so high and everyone has such a fun time!
What have you loved so far about working with SART?
The people! Everyone is really uplifting and wants to see you succeed!
Tell us about your character. What’s your favorite thing about them? What do you love about getting to portray them?
I’m in the ensemble so I get to portray a lot of different characters! It’s a lot of fun getting to help bring this show to life!
How did you get into theatre?
I did a theatre summer camp the summer before high school where I played Peter Pan in Peter Pan Jr and ever since I’ve been hooked! Captain Hooked you could say!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the area?
Definitely try new restaurants! I’m a sucker for good food!
What about this production are you the most excited about?
Dancing!
What’s your favorite part about performing?
Again dancing!
Do you have any upcoming projects we should check out?
I’ll be choreographing Bright Star at my university in the spring! Piedmont University in GA!
Biography
Josephine Collinson is a senior at Piedmont University majoring in Theatre Arts with a minor in Psychology. She has been in productions such as Walk Two Moons as Phoebe, Hair as ensemble/dance captain, The Diviners as Darlene, and many others. This is her first time with SART and she couldn't be more excited. Please enjoy the show!
